FERN
An obscure label from
Kent. The only record on Fern that I have been able to track down is
the EP shown above, which, according to an auction on ebay, was by a group called Gosfolk and was issued in 1972.
The tracks on it, 'A New Day', 'Wooden Finger', 'Dark Light' and 'Put Your
Hand In The Hand', have been described as Christian Pop / Folk. The EP
had no catalogue number, and the titles of the tracks were applied in
the form of a sticker, suggesting a self-financed effort. There may well be other
Fern recordings out there, but if there are they have escaped google's net. Thanks to Stephen
Small for bringing the label to my attention, and to Fokeman of
the 45cat site for providing the catalogue number, which was YR-114 - that
shows that the EP was made through the Yarmouth Recording Studios (q.v.).
Thanks also to Nicholas Hough for supplying the picture - while accurate,
it has been assembled from various sources and is not a scan as such, so be
advised.
