FIGHT

A Reggae label, owned by Larry Lawrence and thus a stalemate of his Ethnic and Reggae labels (q.v.).  The first incarnation of Fight operated in 1974 and 1975.  What I would guess to be the first Fight Single, 'Kung Fu' (Parts 1 and 2) by Jah Martin (ETH-18; 1974), had a catalogue number that was borrowed from Ethnic's series, but subsequent Fights were numbered in the FT-000s or FT-00s.  For some reason the odd numbers seem not have been used.  The label design remained basically the same throughout, with the blue colour varying, but a picture of a head appeared on releases from FT-008 onwards (2).  Fight was merged with another of Lawrence's labels, Ethnic, in 1975 to become Ethnic Fight (q.v.).  The constituent parts of Ethnic Fight separated in or around 1978, but they concentrated on 12" singles from that point onwards and their second incarnations are therefore beyond the scope of this site.  The only Fight single that I have seen in the vinyl, FT-002, was pressed by British Homophone.  Thanks to John Timmis for the second scan.
