GALLERY

Marginal, this one, but as the people responsible for the Art Gallery Stompers' EP 'Basin Street To Corporation Street' went to the bother of putting 'GALLERY RECORDS' on its label they obviously wanted to give it its own individual identity, and I'm quite prepared to go along with that.  The remainder of the label shows its origins, being basically a standard Hollick & Taylor (q.v.) one; the HT/EPS-1570 catalogue number, too, is taken from the usual Hollick & Taylor series.  According to the picture sleeve the record was intended to generate funds for the purchase of a couple of paintings by Canaletto; Birmingham Museums & Art Gallery were behind it, and it was sold at the 1978 Motor Show.  Pressing was by Decca.  Titles on the 'B' side were 'When You're Smiling' and 'On The Sunny Side Of The Street', and the music is upbeat Trad Jazz, with female vocal refrain.
