GOLD (2)
The
second Gold label from the 1970s. This particular Gold appears to
have been a DIY affair: its only release seems to have been 'Napoleon And
Josephine', by Gold 22 (G-2001), which came out in 1976 - some copies just have
the group's name as 'Gold'. Pressing was by Lyntone, as the matrix
number, LYN-3591, shows. Gold 22 sound like a Cabaret Pop
group. Their song, which has an undeniably catchy chorus, had made a
previous appearance in 1973, on United Artists, recorded by a group called
King's Musik (UP-35603). Since the label shown above states that the
song was written by Gold 22, it would appear that at least some of the band had
been in King's Musik.
