LM
LM - the initials stood for 'Liverpool Music', and the
label was run by Liverpool Music Management, of Cook Street - issued at
least two records, both of them in 1975. First out of the blocks was
an EP by Tom Cowin & the Liverpool Police Band, which featured the
tracks 'Didn't we', 'Amanda', 'Final Curtain' and 'My Boy'; it was
numbered LMEP-501. Next came a single, a football song, 'Tribute
To Shankly' b/w 'A Little Touch Of Scotland' by Shank's Pony (LM-502).
The single was engineered at G/G studios, which had its own 'G and G' label
(q.v.). Pressing in both cases was by Phonodisc. Both records
were produced by Alan Peters and Dave Roylance. Roylance,
who co-write the theme to TV's 'Brookside', also produced several records
on the 'Stag (Music)' label. Thanks to Robert Bowes for bringing the label
to my attention and for providing the second scan; the first comes by
courtesy of Nicholas Hough.
