MHG
A Punk / New Wave label from the very late '70s. The only two
MHG singles that I have been able to trace so far are 'Tired Of Waiting For You'
by The Warm (GHM-208; 11/79, or 12/79) and a reissue of the 1979 Psykik Volts'
single on Ellie Jay, 'Totally Useless' (GHM-109; 11/79). The catalogue
numbers suggest that there should be at least seven others out there, but
it may be that the '8' and '9' of the numerical part follow on from the series
used by The Warm's 'Warm' label (q.v.), which ended at number 2007 in
Britain - MHG was intimately connected with Warm, M.H.G. reportedly
being the initials of the lady whose father paid the band's costs at the
time. If that is the case, these two singles may be the only
two that there are. Distribution of the Warm record,
which had a copper-coloured injection-moulded label of the kind that were
pressed in France, was by Pinnacle. Thanks to Robert Bowes for the
scan.
