PLANET (1)

This Planet, the earlier of two to appear in the '70s, was one of the labels of Isa Bell Productions, of 10, Amherst Parade, London, N16.  I've only managed to track down two records on Planet, both of them EPs.  The first was by Harry Kayne, 'Live At The Grosvenor Rooms', which was issued in 1970 with a catalogue number of MPA-333.  According to the blurb on the picture sleeve it was supposed to be the first in a series of five by Harry, but there's no trace of the other four.  Manufacture was by Pye.  The second Planet EP came out the following year and coupled 'No Smoking', a side of advice on how to stop smoking, by Frazer Hines and Patricia Barnett-Rhodes, with a track by Frazer Hines and the Echoes, 'Wallaby Sue' (MPA-555).  Hines had made an earlier venture into the world of records with a single for Major Minor in 1968, 'Who's Dr. Who?' b/w 'Punch And Judy Man'.  Isa Bell Productions was responsible for at least one other label: see 'Magpie (1970)'.  The company was dissolved in January 1976.  Thanks to Sam Mauger for bringing the label to my attention; the scans of the Hines record appear by courtesy of Darren Stephen.
