POLLEN
Pollen was the label of the Pollen recording studios, of Haxby,
Yorkshire. It issued records by the usual sort of Club / Cabaret
artists who used the services of custom recording firms, but it also came up
with a few collectables including a couple of singles by Mod / Punk
band Sema 4, 'If I ever Know' (PBM-022; 1979), and 'Capital City' (PBM-024;
S/79/CUS-512; 1979). Albums, EPs and singles alike generally shared a
PBM-000 numerical series, which seems occasionally to have been used as a matrix
number rather than a catalogue number. A couple of records made through
Ric Rac Studios of Leeds had their own RRS-000 series; Ric Rac later had its own
Luggage label (q.v.). The Pollen records I've managed to trace are
listed below (albums are in brackets): some are on Pollen, some on other
labels.
