POPSWOP

'Popswop' was a Pop magazine aimed primarily at the teenage girl market.  It started out in October 1972 and merged with 'Record Mirror' in September 1974.  During its lifetime it provided its buyers with several free flexi-discs, but it earned a place on this site by being responsible for a vinyl EP, which was made available to members of its club in 1973.  The EP contained a number of excerpts from the then-current album by Geordie: 'All Because Of You' and 'Don't Do That' seem to be there more or less in their entirety, with a few DJ remarks over the starts and finishes, but 'Hope You Like It', 'Geordie's Lost His Liggy' and 'Keep On Rocking' were severely edited.  Pressing was by Lyntone, and the matrix number was LYN-2694/95.
