REAL (1)

The first Real label of the 1970s appears to have been an offshoot of Country Music company Westwood Records (q.v.), of Montgomery; it seems to have had Folk leanings, though it did feature some Country.  It issued more than a dozen records during 1975-c.76, most of which - including the one shown above - were albums.  It did however put out at least one single, 'Five Hundred Miles' b/w 'A Place In My Heart' by Country singer Jon Derek (RR-2010; 4/76).  The single shared the albums' RR-2000 numbering, as did an EP by A.G. & Kate, 'On The Narrow Gauge Train Track' (RR-2014; 1976), but the EP came out on a variant of the Westwood label.
