A product of Barnsley-based company Cubwood Productions. 'Music Week' of the 17th of February 1979 reported that Cubwood were 'aiming at the Singles Chart' with a single by Vivian Nicholson, who made headlines in 1961 when she won over £150,000 on the pools and proclaimed that she was going to "Spend Spend Spend!". Sadly, by the time that 'Spend, Spend, Spend' b/w 'You're Number One' (SRTS-79414; 2/79) was recorded the money had long gone and Vivian was struggling to cope with the consequences. As the catalogue number indicates, the single was made through custom recording firm SRT. The 'MW' article also credits SRT with distribution, and said that that company hoped to sell the record through Cabaret venues. The 'A' side is reported to have been co-written by Vivian's brother.
