S.T.

One of those cases where I can do little more than acknowledge the existence of a label and provide a scan.  A single with 'The Sunderland Story' on one side and 'The Roker Roar' on the other seems to have been S.T. Records's only release.  The artists are anonymous but the copyright refers to 'Squire Thompson', which would appear to be where the 'S.T.' name came from.  The 'A' side mentions Sunderland A.F.C. only in passing, and concentrates mainly on the history of the city; the club does however get the 'B' side to itself.  The tune on the 'A' is a traditional one and is in a Pop / Folk style, while the band on the 'B' has brass added to it.  There's no date on the label, but fortunately the record was made through Lyntone; its matrix / catalogue number, LYN-4700, enables us to say that the year of release was 1977.  Producers Forum Music also put records out on their own label (q.v.).
