THEY MUST BE RUSSIANS
A DIY label; one of those cases where there was
no label identification on either the sleeve or the record, leaving me to
have to name it after the band. This particular They Must Be
Russians was an Electronic Punk band from Sheffied - there was
another outfit of that name from Royal Windsor, which was partly responsible for
a split single on Gemme Records (q.v.). The Sheffield band made this
self-financed EP containing 'Nagasaki's Children' and three other
tracks (RUS-001; 1979) before moving on to record a maxi-single for Fresh
Records (q.v.) the following year. The EP had blank white labels
with red and green paper dots stuck to one of them. The matrix number,
LYN-6714, indicates a Lyntone pressing. Thanks to Jon Downing for the
label scan.
