THE CRAVATS

A DIY label from the Punk / New Wave years.  Redditch Punk band The Cravats issued one single, 'George' b/w 'Situations Vacant' (CH-004; 1978) on their own label.  The label doesn't appear to have a name as such, but under my rules the separate numerical series entitles it to be considered an entity in its own right on this site; I had to call it something, therefore, and as it had the band's name on it in big letters I have named it after them.  The single was picked up and distributed by Small Wonder records, which is why some copies, such as the one shown above, have 'Small Wonder Records' overprinted on them.  The band went on to make several more singles for Small Wonder.  Pressing of 'George' was by Lyntone, and it was recorded in Outlaw studios, Birmingham.  The catalogue number doesn't seem to be part of a series.  Thanks to Simon Hughes for the scan.
