THUNDER
American, derived from Ral Donner's Mid-Eagle Records. Thunder's
only British release was Donner's own tribute to Elvis Presley, 'The Day The
Beat Stopped'; its catalogue number, TD-7801, was the same as that of the
eqivalent American single. The telephone number on the label, RUDGEWICK
2829, was that of independent Rockabilly reissue label Spade Records (q.v.),
which suggests that Spade licensed the single and released it over
here. The single was pressed in clear vinyl by Orlake, and marketing
was by Plastic Fantastic. Distribution was by Pye, according to 'Music
Master', or by H. R. Taylor, according to the label; it could of course have
been both, as was the case with Charly records.
