VIKING VISION
An independent label from
Lerwick, in the Shetland Islands. Viking Vision was owned by Douglas
Bentley, who had a shop selling electrical goods and ran a small
studio. It appears to have operated from 1978 until around 1984. Its
products were mainly albums or cassettes, and their catalogue numbers, which
reached at least ZE-023, suggest that there were a couple of dozen or so of
them, though Googling doesn't bring up many. Thankfully from the point of
view of this site Viking Vision put out at least one 7" record, an EP
by Folk band Hom Bru. The EP came out in 1979, and offered
'Jolly Beggar' and 'Rona's Voe' in addition to the tracks shown on the
scan. Its catalogue number was ZOO-1. There doesn't seem to have been a ZOO-2.
