WRECKORD
A DIY label from Oakwood,
in Kent. Wreckord Records issued two EPs and a single, all of which
were by The Record Players, who owned the label. It issued its first
two discs in 1979. The first EP, 'Double C Side' (WRECK-1 /
AERE-1104) was made through Aerco, of Woking and had an Aerco label; the
Wreckord company was credited only on the sleeve. Music Master
doesn't give a source for the second EP, '60-7 Inches' (WRECK-002; 1979).
Two years later came a single, 'Money Worries' b/w 'Two Wrongs Don't Make A
Right' (WEK-3003; 5/81), which had a completely different label design.
Details and pictures of all three releases can be found on the 45cat site
. There were rumours about a Record Players LP
on the label, but they seem to be unfounded. Thanks to James Denholm for
the scan and for additional information.
