AIREBEAT

An independent label from Leeds, operating out of premises at 23, Miles Hill View.  Airebeat was set up primarily in order to record and promote New Wave group The Squares.  After the objective had been attained and the band had been signed by Sire Records a couple of other bands were recorded, but the lack of finance meant that only one of those recordings saw the light of day.  Following their stint with Sire, brothers Paddy and Brian Hogan of The Squares revived Airebeat and, in company with other musicians, issued records on that label sporadically throughout the 1980s, once backing Zed Warren and on several occasions as The Bright Carvers.  The company has a website which provides a complete list of Airebeat records; only the 1970s releases are shown in the discography below.  Thanks to Robert Bowes for the scan.
