AKINS



The 1970s yielded a massive crop of short-lived Reggae labels.  Akins, which was run by Honey Boy, was one of them.  'Think About Me', by Joe Francis (AKO-1; 1975) appears to have been its only release.  'Sol Fa', which appears on the label, was the name of another company in which Honey Boy had an interest: it has its own page on this site.  The single in the scan shown above had been dinked, so the centre, which has been grafted on by means of a paint programme, is conjectural.  Thanks to Robert Bowes for providing that scan, and to Mark Griffiths for the ownership information.
