ALAMO

Alamo was owned and run by organist Jerry Allen ("One of the greatest and most respected of all English electronic-organists" - 'Organ 1st' magazine), who died in 1985, aged 59.  It advertized itself as being 'The specialists in all kinds of organ music'.  It was mentioned as 'A new company' in 'Music Week' of the 8th of December 1973, but it was not until September 1975 that its first batch of records  - 7 LPs and the single pictured above - appeared.  That first single,  Jerry Allen's, '12 after 6' b/w 'Thyme' (AR-501; 9/1975), was also its last.  For the rest of its existence Alamo concentrated solely on LPs, the last of which, AL-1020, was released in the year of Mr. Allen's death.  Manufacture and distribution were by Pye.
