ANGLO

Something of a
mystery. I have only ever seen references to two 7" records on the
Anglo label, both of which are shown above: they were 'Two Timer'
b/w 'No Matter
Where I Wander' by The Skysounds (11/1 and 11/2; 1966), and Wild
Country's 'Song Of The
Lonely Traveller' b/w 'I'm So Happy Today' (TPMA-11/5 and 11/6; 1972). Each side had its
own catalogue number; presumably there is an
'11/3' b/w '11/4' out there somewhere. Matrix number of the Skysounds single was TPMA-101, and
it has 'Recording first published 1966' on it, which would indicate that the company
put out three singles
in six years, as the Wild Country record dates from 1972. As
schedules go it seems a little on the thin side,
but it's
not impossible. There was also at least one album, 'Bobby Fisher At
The Hammond Organ, Vol. 3' (TPM-148 / 3), which was from around 1969; the
title of that record suggests that Vols 1 & 2 ought to be out
there somewhere. Composer / performer Fisher was a common link between all three
releases, so perhaps Anglo was his company. The 'TPM' of the prefixes suggests a link with
Tony Pike Music Ltd (q.v.).
