BASH THE HORSE
Apparently a one-off DIY
concern. A one-sided single by the Marenski Brothers, 'Suck The
Cats Brain Out', came out in 1975 and seems to have been the only venture into
the music market by either the brothers or the label. It had a catalogue
number of KILL-001 and a matrix number of JB JH-001. The 'A' side
label looks to have been pasted on over a white blank, while the 'B' side
label is a black blank. As for what's in the grooves: I was expecting
something punkish and crude, but it turned out to be an organ / bass/ drums
version of the 'Je T'Aime' melody with electronically treated vocal effects -
growling, a cough and so on - all over it. Googling brought up nothing
about the film referred to on the label, which adds to the impression that the
whole thing was less than serious. There are several copies online,
however, which suggests that it was a proper 'release' and not just
the brothers messing around and amusing themselves. Any
information about the single would be welcome.
