BROXBOURNE SCHOOL CHOIRS
One of those cases where
I've had to name a label after the artist in order to give it some form of
identification. The choirs of Broxbourne School, Hertfordshire, were
responsible for a couple of records in the early '70s. The first was
the one that got them onto this site: it was an EP, 'Carols in Waltham Abbey -
Christmas 1970', and it had a catalogue number of BSC-1. In addition to
the tracks shown on the scan, which appears by kind permission of Graham7 of the
45cat site, it offered versions of 'The Holly And The Ivy', 'In The Bleak
Midwinter' and 'Quem Pastores'. The second record was another Christmas
one, and the tracks for it were again recorded in Waltham Abbey: this time,
however, it was an LP, 'Carols 1972' (BROX-2). Roger Pope appears to
have been the driving force behind both releases.
