BUTTON
The outlet for records by a duo from Chester, The Taylor
Brothers. 'Taylor' was a stage name; the surname of the brothers, Reg and Vic,
was actually Button, which is where their label got its name. They put out a
couple of self-financed EPs, one in 1978 and another in 1980. Both records were
made through Amazon Studios (q.v.) of Liverpool, and their catalogue numbers
were taken from Amazon's then-current JR-2000 series. In addition to the tracks
shown on the scan above, JR-7025 offered 'Now That It's Over' and 'Material
Possessions'. The follow-up, which had black print on the labels rather than
green, supplied 'Don't Look Behind', 'One More Time', 'One More Stop On The
Highway' and 'Broken Heart'. It was numbered JR-7043. All the songs on both
records were originals. Thanks to Sam Mauger for bringing Button to my
attention.
