CAPRICORN (UK)
The second Capricorn
label of the '70s appears to have been a custom recording concern. It was
responsible for three 7" records in or around 1978: a couple of EPs by
Janet Stein and Alan Mack, and a single by the duo 'Brief Encounters'.
Telephone numbers on a couple of the records suggest that the company was based
in the Medway / Dartford area. Alan Mack's 'Live At The Trocadero Night
Spot, Nuneaton' had a white label with no label name on it and may perhaps not
be a Capricorn, but its catalogue number, CCR-1002, fits cosily into the
listing; see
'CCR'.
Googling 'Capricorn' was never going to be a great help in looking for other
records that the company may have made, so information about missing
Capricorns or UK records numbered in the CCR-1000s would be welcome.
Thanks to Barry Adcock for drawing the label to my attention and for providing the scan.
