CIBA
The label of pharmaceutical firm CIBA, from Horsham.
CIBA issued a series of five fifteen-minute lectures in a
'Postgraduate Educational Series' from 1971 to 1973, of which I have only
managed to track down four. 'The Management Of Hypertension' (SLE-49; 1971)
by Dr. R. L. Parsons was the first of them, and Tim Brinton's 'New
Perspective In Beta Blockade' (ECW-1004; 1973) brought up the rear. The
labels appear to have come in various colours; SLE-49 and ECW-1004 were red
with silver printing. Pressing was by EMI, and the catalogue numbers were taken from two
of the series which EMI used for custom pressings. Another lecture,
apparently not part of the Postgraduate Educational Series, followed in 1976.
It dealt with 'The Changing Approach To Clinical Depression', was numbered CIB-1,
and had a blue label (2). Pressing, again, was by EMI. Thanks
to Sam Mauger for reminding me of the existence of this label, and to
Col. Wolfe of the 45cat site for supplying the second scan. If
anybody knows the title and number of the missing lecture I'd be pleased to hear
from them.
