CLEVELAND
The Cleveland label appears to have hosted just one record, a solitary
single by Folk group the Tees-Side Fettlers - usually known as the 'Teesside
Fettlers'. It came out in 1975 and it featured the tracks 'Cleveland
County' and 'Build It Up (In Cleveland)'. The two songs had finished first and
second in a local song competition, and the record was funded by Cleveland
County Council, the name of which appears in the credits at the bottom of the
label. The text on the back of the picture sleeve suggests that the single
was used as a promotional device to inspire local pride or promote the image of
the county. The matrix / catalogue number in the run-off was CC-1338, and the
style of it indicates that pressing was done by RCA.
