FICTION
An independent label started in 1979 by Polydor scout Chris
Parry, Fiction is best known as the home of The Cure. Label and band
must have suited each other; they first entered the singles charts
in 1980 and were still having hits together seventeen years later. Numbering was in
a FICS-000 series, and, for the first year at least, labels were injection moulded. The
layout was unusual in that the artist's names were
in various - sometimes fairly exotic - fonts. The discography below only covers 1979. Thanks to
Robert Bowes for the first scan,
and to John Timmis for the second.
