GOOD VIBRATIONS INTERNATIONAL
An offshoot of Terri Hooley's 'Good Vibrations' label (q.v.),
from Belfast. The main Good Vibrations label featured 'home grown' bands, whereas
its International sibling was reserved for bands from elsewhere. It seems
to have run to just five releases, which were generally numbered in a GVI GOT-0
series. 'Original Terminal' b/w 'The Iceburn' by The Jets was numbered
GV1002, presumably as the result of a misprint; its label lacked the
'international' too, but the number more or less fits into the series and in any
case the band was from Luton. The pressing marks on several of the singles
suggest that manufacture was by EMI (Ireland?) (1), but The Jets' single was
pressed by Phonodisc (2). The label design echoed that of Good Vibrations
but had the appropriate text added. Thanks to Robert Bowes for the first
scan, and to James Denholm for putting me right about The Jets' record.
