GROUNATION
A Reggae label, owned by Junior Lincoln and Webster
Shrowder, who were also responsible for the Vulcan label (q.v.). The
first eight Grounation singles had paper labels and
were pressed in Austria (1), the remainder were injection
moulded. It was one of the few Reggae labels to be manufactured and
distributed by a major mainstream record company, Phonogram / Phonodisc, and as
can be seen from the discograhy below it managed a more-than-respectable number
of releases during the period of its existence, which was 1975-76. Thanks
to Robert Bowes for the scan of the red label.
