HAM
A Reggae label, one of several to feature the
productions of Harry A. Mudie. HAM seems to have been primarily
a Jamaican concern, as the address on the label indicates, but it released
several singles over here during 1974-75 - British issues usually have small
spindle-holes. Catalogue numbering varied but the main series
was HM-8200, which was shared with Jungle and Moodisc (q.v. both);
the numbers were the original Jamaican ones. Mark
Griffiths writes that all three labels were handled by M & M Music, of
Leyton. The records that are listed below appear to have been
given a British release.
