HIGH TOWER
A DIY label from early in the decade. High Tower seems to
have been responsible for just the one record, by concert pianist Jack Freedman,
but it came out in two forms. Both appear to have been souvenir records.
'Malaguena' b/w 'I'll Build A Dream' was issued in 1970 in a sleeve which marked
Freedman's residency at the Horseshoe Bar on the Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
Then at some point there was a second pressing with the 'A' and 'B' sides
reversed and a cover which carried the blurb 'Jack Freeman Entertains At The
Piano - Royal Viking Line'. Both types had the same catalogue number,
JRF-0096; the second appears to lack the sticker shown in the scan above.
Freedman went on to record an album of Classical pieces for the 'Music Masters'
label (q.v.) in or around 1978.
