HOT
A DIY label. An EP by White Lightning seems to have been
Hot's sole release. The labels didn't have a year on them, but the East
Anglian Music Archives say that the band was active around 1976, so I'm quietly
confident that their EP can be allotted to that period. In addition to the
tracks shown on the scan the EP offered 'Hot Feet' and 'Sally Brown's Hat'.
As can be seen, its catalogue number was HWL-001. Copies exist with blank
white labels; it looks as though the printed label above may have been pasted
over one such. The archive gives the band's members as being Steve and
Martin Popey and Dave and Andrew Lincoln. Thanks to Klepsie of the 45Cat
site for bringing Hot to my attention, and to Redpunk of the same site for
permission to use his scan here.
