HRS
One of the labels of the Humber
Recording Studio of Grimsby, the other being Humber (q.v.). HRS appears
to have been the first label used by the studio. The catalogue number
of an EP by Cleethorpe Rock, HRS-008, suggests that it probably ran to at least
eight releases, but I haven't been able to track any others down - I wouldn't
even know about that EP if John Timmis hadn't been kind enough to let me
know of its existence and to send a scan. In addition to
the tracks shown above, the EP offered versions of
'Peace Pipe' and 'Be Bop A-Lula'. Its matrix number, DER-1260, shows that
it was made through Deroy; the pressing marks and the narrow dinking
perforations suggest that the actual manufacture was done by
RCA. If anyone knows of another HRS I'd be pleased to hear from them.
