INTERSONG
Something of a mystery. Intersong Music was - and still is - a
major music publishing company. It seems to have made just one record, a 1979
single with 'Thank You', featuring Members of the Wandsworth Boys School Choir,
on one side and an uncredited instrumental track called 'Christmas Anthem' on
the other. The catalogue number of the single was KIDS-1. There seem to be
very few copies of it about, and there's no reference to it in the Trade papers,
which makes me wonder if rather than being intended for sale it was an 'in
house' thing, a gesture of appreciation to be given to the company's staff at
Christmas in acknowledgement of their efforts over the previous year. Intersong
was owned by Phonogram ('Billboard', 18th November 1972), so it's hardly
surprising that the single was manufactured by Phonodisc. The composer of both
of the sides, Eugene Moule, spent some time at Polydor International, in
Hamburg; according to 'BB' of the 21st of December 1974 he had just joined the
Pop staff there and was responsible for handling information services. Thanks
to Klepsie of the 45Cat site for letting me know about the existence of the
single.
