JD

JD appears to have
been a DIY label. I assume it gained its name from the initials
of Scottish singer Johnny Duffy, who put out an EP called 'Johnny Duffy
Sings', featuring 'Love Is All' and three other tracks, in 1973. The
catalogue number of the EP was JD-101, and the tracks were recorded in
Craighall Studios, Edinburgh. As can be seen from the scan, which Nicholas
Hough has kindly provided, JD bears a family resemblance to the other Craighall
labels such as Road and Mayfair (q.v. both, also the 'TD / Craighall Studios'
page). Duffy went on to make an album for Nevis Records, 'Live From
London' (NEV LP-110).
