JJ RECORDS (Reggae)
A
Reggae label, and a member of the Doctor Bird family. JJ issued
records from 1968-70. For most of its life it borrowed its catalogue
numbers from the main Doctor Bird DB-1000 (later DB-1300) series, and
occasionally from Pyramid's PYR-6000s. Doctor Bird ceased to exist as
an independent entity in 1969, but a short series of singles on JJ with JJ-3300
numbers appeared from c.1969-70. Trojan picked up the Doctor Bird and
Pyramid labels in the early '70s; it may be that the JJ-3300s were a Trojan
product as well, though as yet I have not been able to confirm that.
