JR
Another of those cases
where all I can do is supply a scan and reiterate what is on the
label. JR managed at least one EP, 'Illusion', by Jack Blaize and
Judi Blue. The catalogue number of the EP, AERE-1105, indicates a
product of the Aerco Studio, of Woking, and the year of issue was
1978. The tracks on the EP were all written by Roger Churchyard, who also produced the EP; they were 'Illusion', 'Hey, Did
You Know I Love You', 'Got To Leave L.A.' and Where Were You
Baby'. According to the picture sleeve Jack and Judi had a
residency at the Vienna Restaurant, Dorking, so presumably they were fairly local to that establishment.
The sleeve says that the record was produced for RJ Records rather than JR, so
there may have been a mix-up somewhere along the line. The style of the
matrix number suggests an Orlake pressing. Thanks to Sam Mauger for bringing the label to
my attention.
