JUMP UP

A Calypso label.  For most of its life, starting in 1963, Jump Up was part of Island Records.  It expired in the mid '60s, and only comes into range of this site because Trojan revived it briefly for two issues in 1971.  The singles in question were 'Muhamed Ali' by Mister Calypson b/w 'Undemocratic Rhodesia' by Sampson The Lark (JU-540; 3/71) and 'Mr. Walker' b/w 'Mae Mae' by The Mighty Sparrow (JU-541; 6/71).  As can be seen, the 1960s label design (1) was more elaborate than the 1970s one (2).  Thanks to Robert Bowes for the second scan.
