JUNGLE (JR prefix)

The second Jungle label of the 1970s was a custom recording concern; it was run by Amazon studios, of Kirkby, Liverpool, and was a successor to their 'Amazon' label (q.v.).  Catalogue numbers started where those of Amazon finished, with Amazon's AR7 (for 7" records) and AR12 (for LPs) prefixed being replaced by JR7 and JR12; they reached at least JR-7057, which dates from 1981.  Pressings, presumably, were small and were sold locally, which accounts for the fact that several of them have escaped Google's net.  The Jungles that I have managed to track down are listed below, under the Amazons; LPs are in square brackets.  See also 'Litherland Male Voice Choir'.  Thanks to Robert Bowes for the scan and to John Timmis for adding to the discography.
