JUNGLE BEAT
A Reggae label, attached to Empire (q.v.). Jungle Beat
managed just three 7" singles, all of them in 1976, but it turned its attention
to 12" singles in 1977 - the bigger format was becoming very popular in Reggae
circles around that time - and it continued to release them into 1981. As
can be seen from the scans which Charlie Chalk of the 45Cat site has kindly
allowed me to use here, two designs were used for the 7" records; the more
colourful one was used for most of the 12" ones. Presumably in order to
make the 7" singles look Jamaican they had their centres dinked.
