L & S
The label of L & S Management, a company based in Saundersfoot,
Dyfed. Catalogue numbers for its singles were in a LAS-100 series; they
reached LAS-103, but LAS-101 is as yet unaccounted-for. L & S appears to have
effectively been a vehicle for records by a band called Elite. Their first
single 'Take Away' b/w 'Part Of My Life' (LAS-102) came out in June 1979 and was
made through Aerco (q.v.) of Woking. As can be seen from the scan, L & S merely
featured as an overprint on the standard Aerco label at that point. LAS-102,
however, had a non-Aerco label design - it kept the company's logo but added the
band's own logo prominently. That single offered the tracks 'Money Talks' and
'Money Talks (Full Version)', and it came out in 1981. There were also a couple
of albums by Elite, 'Any Port In A Storm' (LAS-3301; 1979) and '3 Of Sand And 1
Of Cement' (LAS-3302; 1982). The pressing marks suggest that LAS-102 was
manufactured by Linguaphone.
