NATIONWIDE
A Reggae label, owned by Bert Campbell and
handled by Ital Records, of London. Nationwide issued 7" records from
1975 until at least 1978. Catalogue numbers were initially in a NAT-0
series, but this changed to NW-000 before NW-004. The numbers gained
a '1', becoming '1000's, before NW-008, but the occasional NW-000 still got
out. Not all the numbers seem to have been used, and some were used
for 12" singles - that's my excuse for the gaps in the discography below,
anyway. At least three types of label were used: the first had a striped
design; the second (from c.NW-1010) featured a map of the world; the third was
plain. The first two came in several different
colours. Every scan except the last-but-one comes by courtesy of
Robert Bowes.
