NESTOR
A Reggae / Funk
label, with its headquarters in San Diego, California. Nestor appears to
have been an outlet for a pair of recordings by Nana Love. Her album
'Disco Documentary - Full Of Funk' (NES-0201; 1978) is collectable nowadays, but
it's the single 'Chains Of Love' b/w 'Sahara' that concerns us. It too was
released in 1978; it had a catalogue number of NES-101, and it was pressed by
Orlake. As can be seen from the scan, the artist's name was given as 'N.
Love'. Ghanaian in origin, she had had a single out in Britain on the
Golden Age label the previous year, 'When The Heart Decides' b/w 'Give Me The
Chance' (GAM-01; 1977); the single had a Ghanaian counterpart, on Essiebons
(INT-133). In addition to its UK release 'Disco Documentary - Full Of
Funk' was issued in Nigeria on the Taretone label (TTL-105), as was a second LP,
'Hang On' (TTL-129; 1979), on which 'Chains Of Love' can be found. All
four are collectable. There don't seem to be many copies of 'Chains Of Love' around, either.
