PARA-MINGO

A one-off DIY label, operating out of premises in Silverdale
Road, Eastbourne. Para-Mingo's sole offering was a split EP, 'These Things
Are Sent To Try Us', featuring two Punk bands from the Portsmouth area.
The sides were given separate numbers, PM-001 and PM-002. One offered a
couple of tracks by the Pink Flamingos, 'Oh Isn't It Wild' and 'Save It For
Later'; on the other, Mike Malignant & The Parasites supplied 'Is Death Best',
'OD Baby' and 'Terminal Fracture'. There's no date on the label or the
picture sleeve, but Sam Mauger, who was kind enough to bring Para-Mingo to my
attention and to provide the scan, says that in September 1979 a copy of the EP
was sent to the radio station where he was working, which places it safely in
our decade. Mike Malignant is still ploughing the Punk furrow today (2109)
with his band 'Archive 45'.
