PETER PANN

A
bit of a puzzle. None of the three Peter Pann singles I've seen
has had a date on it, but the seller of one had it listed under '1970s',
and the label does look early-seventiesish, so I've included it
here. Peter Pann seems to have been an outlet for the records of
singer John Talliavini. Numbering of the first two singles was in a
GM-000 series, but the third was numbered GM-0033, which may be a printers'
error. That label was yellow with black printing (2) as opposed to the
silver-on-blue of the first two. The 'deep bevel, narrow raised
platform around the spindle hole' shown in the second scan appears to have been
peculiar to Linguaphone pressings and to have come into existence around April
1972, which adds a speck of evidence for Peter Pann belonging to the earlyish
'70s - if I were a betting man I'd guess 1972-74 should cover the three singles. Talliavini also recorded a single
for the Gemini label, 'If You Were The Only Girl In The World' b/w 'Love Show Me
The Way' (GMS-022; 7/75).
