PHILADELPHIA DISCO
One of two labels run by a London-based company called Soulville
Records, the other being Reggamite (q.v.). Both proved short-lived,
issuing only one single each. Philadelphia Disco's solitary release was 'Here
For The Party, Parts 1 and 2' by The Philadelphia Disco Movers, which was leased
from Cover Productions of Philadelphia. It had a catalogue number of
PDR-S-001, and it came out in 1976. Soulville was behind a third single,
'Hacka Tacka Music (Parts 1 and 2)' by Mel and Tannia, but instead of coming out
on one of the company's own labels it was picked up by EMI and issued on Harvest
as HAR-5111, in August 1976.
