A DIY label from Cosham, Hants. Pussycat seems to have put out just one record, a single by the Arthur Ward Band, 'Torremolinos' b/w 'You And Me'. The band, a club / cabaret outfit led by drummer Ward, lent its initials to the prefix of the single's catalogue number, AWB-69, but where the '69' part isn't obvious. I wondered at first if it might be the year of release, but Pye was responsible for the manufacture, and 'polo mints' around the spindle holes of Pye pressings - as shown in the scan - date from 1975 to 1977, with most being from 1976. Arthur Ward played for decades in various combinations, from the early '50s to at least the late '90s, but he doesn't seem to have made any other records. Judging by 'Torremolinos', that's a pity - it's a cheery, holidayish kind of thing, as you might expect.
