RIGA
A DIY label from the mid
'70s. Riga appears to have been responsible for just one record, an EP
called 'Four For You' by a duo named Duel Control. The EP came out in 1976
and offered four original Country-flavoured tracks, 'Back In New Orleans', 'Sea
Of Faces', 'For The Next Hour' and 'Memories (Linger On)'. Its catalogue
number, HP-49, shows that it was made through custom recording firm Stag Music
(q.v.), and pressing was done by Phonodisc. The picture sleeve says that
the duo was from Merseyside; the label's name was assembled from the
members' forenames, RIchard Prescott and GAry Nicholls.
