SADDLE

A small independent label from 1973, probably self financed.  Saddle issued one single and one album.  They shared a common title, 'Stop And Think About Me', and they were both by British Country duo Ken & Billie Ford, from Hartburn, in Stockton.  It seems a reasonable guess that the Fords and the producer of the album, Brian P. Cox, made up the 'Coxford Promotions' mentioned on the label and were responsible for the records appearing.  The single, which had a catalogue number of SSP-100, was an amiable mid-tempo song with some pleasant 'chuckky' guitar.  The Fords also recorded for British Country labels Silver Dollar (q.v.) and VFM.
